PM orders swift action against human trafficking, smuggling networks

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday commended the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) for dismantling a major human trafficking network and arresting its key suspect, Usman Jajja. He urged law enforcement agencies to step up efforts to curb trafficking networks and uphold Pakistan’s image globally. The FIA and IB briefed the prime minister on the arrest of traffickers and their facilitators, outlining steps taken to prevent illegal migration. Authorities have intensified operations against smuggling networks following international scrutiny over Pakistan’s role in human trafficking routes.
