At least one officer martyred, three injured in Mastung police vehicle attack

A police officer was martyred and three others injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire on their vehicle near Choto along the National Highway in Mastung district on Friday, provincial officials said. According to a spokesperson for the Balochistan government, Shahid Rind, the targeted vehicle belonged to an acting Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). DSP remains unhurt in the attack. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical assistance. “The security forces have been dispatched to the site and a search operation is under way to trace the attackers,” the spokesperson said. Rind confirmed that the attack appeared to be a targeted assault on the officer’s vehicle. Authorities have not yet provided details about the motive or identity of the attackers.
