Police visits PTI chairman's house, questions family members

A police team visited the residence of PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Saturday and questioned his family members while he was at the apex court fighting a crucial legal battle for the party to secure the electoral symbol of 'bat'.  The police visit coincided with Barrister Gohar's presence at the apex court and he was informed of the incident during the hearing.  Upon hearing the news from Gohar, Barrister Ali Zafar, the other key lawyer of PTI, remarked that it was a difficult time for the party and advised the PTI chairman to take leave from court proceedings. The PTI chairman informed Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa about the incident and claimed his son and nephew were "tortured". He added that a computer and documents were taken.  Gohar left the live hearing and reportedly went back home. However, the federal capital's top police official said they were unaware that the house belonged to Gohar.  The IG added nothing was taken from the house nor was anything damaged during the police team's visit. "We will resolve any complaints that Barrister Gohar may have," said IG Islamabad.  Read: SC may announce PTI ‘bat’ symbol verdict today CJP Isa directed the additional attorney general to look into the matter and said “What has happened, should not have happened”.
